Now, see...I was so intent on getting this blog going that I totally forgot that yesterday was Valentine's Day! Belated Happy Valentine's Day to all! And, I've a feeling that, until I have this blog up and running a while, I'll probably be posting a couple of times a day during the week! Oy...can you stand it???
SNOW! Though we've yet to reach the predicted amount of 15 - 20 inches (and that frequently doesn't happen anyway), we are getting snow finally! Since it started yesterday morning, we've gotten around 11 inches, we think - the wind has blown so much it's kind of hard to tell. It's still snowing and blowing this morning, but is supposed to stop by noon. And, of course, school has been canceled for 2 days here (didn't realize it was that bad!!), so I've been having trouble getting on and staying online (dial up - ARGH!!).
I've been asked if we've firmed up plans for the AK trip....well....sort of. Our plan of flying round trip from Bangor, Maine to Anchorage, AK has stayed the same. Our flight dates are still tentatively May 26 to June 15. I've not booked our flights yet...I was going to do it last week, but my isp decided to be a pain in the butt (knocking me offline every 5 minutes). This week I have no excuse except procrastination. We have definitely decided to rent a motorhome instead of staying in motels and renting a car. Though we'll take our chances at finding campground sites, it will give us much more freedom to roam around. It will be a tad bit more expensive, but we feel it will be worth it....no scheduling motel changes.....no eating every meal in a restaurant...no packing and unpacking 5 or 6 times. Neither of us really wants to eat out all the time...and since I'm the one that does all the booking and packing, it's a definite plus for me!
Now that we have a newer dependable vehicle and our finances are more stable, we will probably be making trips to Ed's dad's in VT more often than in the past. We used to only go about 3 times a year (it's an 8 hour trip), but want to go more frequently. Also, Ed wants to be able to give his siblings a break from helping dad, who is not only dealing with chemo, but also hurt his knee, so isn't very mobile right now. We've planned our next trip for Feb. 24. We'll probably stay the whole week, so should be able to take care of all sorts of stuff that others don't have time for.
On the crocheting front, I went great guns for a few weeks, starting and finishing several projects.....then....splat.....the muse took a nap. Sheesh. And here I am in the middle of trying to make a bolero for my DD's babysitter's eldest DD - I already did things for the two younger ones....and if I don't finish it soon, they won't be able to wear them this year, as they're all in NC!!! So...here's hoping I can wake my muse soon.

What part of NC? I know you've told be before but can remeber. If you ever make it out to see them and it is close enough will have to try to get together
