Dreary and snowing, it's supposed to turn into sleet....so I'll be staying in most of today. Yesterday I did some shopping - mostly groceries. We'll need to get some non grocery items, but there's not a lot of choice here. This city has the smallest, least stocked department stores on earth, I swear...and mostly old and not updated....a tiny Walmart and a K-Mart...a JC Penney and a Sears...none of which had what I was looking for. I had simple things on my list....kitchen chair pads, for example....they had 4 mismatched ones at WW, one set of icky green at K-Mart.....and I AIN'T payin $10 EACH at the other stores (even if it's not my money)!! I'm hoping we can get to a mall somewhere before we leave for home, to pick up the household stuff that I just can't find here.
I set the roomba to work yesterday, too....vac'd the kitchen, dining room, living room, hall and master bedroom....it only got stuck three times (and once was Ed's fault!). I'm learning what/where it can/can't/should/shouldn't go here.....it'll be a cinch to work at my own house.
I ended up having to go all the way back to the grocery store yesterday, too.....I'd not been home 5 minutes when I discovered they'd not put one of my bags of groceries in my cart....needed all the items to fix supper! (baked beef stew)....and the groc. store I was at is at least 15 minutes away....sigh. Went to visit Ed's brother & family for a bit after supper, back to watch tv with his dad, then to bed.
Today, I cleaned the fridge (icky, yucky....the box of baking soda said January 2000!) while Ed & his dad went to get stuff to clean dad's heating system. I also set the roomba to cleaning the small bedroom.....it was done cleaning a long time before I was! Oh,and they got rubber stair treads for the cellar stairs (progress....we've convinced his dad he needs some of this stuff done for his own safety!!). I got supper going in the crock pot when they got back (chicken in sour cream sauce)....and I'm DONE for the day. Even if there was more to do, I quit....can't do any more! Ed's gonna cook the noodles to go with the chicken.
I've only had time and energy to make exactly ONE square since we arrived.....plan to make at least a dozen and get em in the mail by Friday. Maybe I'll do a bunch tomorrow while Ed takes his dad to his chemo session. We'll see.
Done Ramblin.
