Yep, that's what happened. Our Monday appointment got rescheduled to Tuesday at the last minute....well, nearly....about an hour and a half before we were due there. The rescheduling gave me some free time before Ed got home, so I kept working on this mini tote that was in my wip basket - and it was finished before he got home! It's cute - about 5 inches by 7 inches. The pattern calls for double strands of worsted, then fun fur added as a 3rd strand for the last few rounds, but I used worsted and a small shiny nubby novelty together instead, then added the fun fur. I had packed Easter gifts for our DD's family in with the ponchos & bolero (also shown here) for her sitter's kids, so I decided to add the tote for our DGD - maybe she'll like it to play 'dress-up' with it.....and, besides...the box of crayons in her Easter package fit just right!!Since we usually see the denturist around 4:30, we go to the restaurant down the road from his office for supper after we're done....hmmm.......oops! I had to scrounge up something for supper. Choices are limited...we had an odd meal....scrambled eggs for both of us, leftover rice in gravy and cranberry jelly for me, french fries and leftover green beans for Ed. Hey, it filled the tummy.
So, Tuesday.....Ben (the denturist) had me put in my bottom denture - took one look at it and said, "no way!" (did I mention he's young?). New bottom denture for me. He did some adjustments to both of Ed's dentures and then took another impression of my gums. I will go back on Monday - he should have the new denture all ready then....I HOPE!!
Wednesday I left early to go to Bangor to get some shopping done. We'd had about 3 inches of snow then some sleet overnight, so it took me nearly 40 minutes to clean off my car. By then, I was beat, so had no energy for roaming or window shopping - I only shopped for the necessities and headed straight back home. Got back around 1:30, unpacked the groceries, laid down to rest my leg...and woke up when Ed came home at 4 - woo, boy!
The weather forecast was for snow again Wednesday night into Thursday - about 6 inches. RIGHT. At 2:30 p.m. yesterday, the plow truck FINALLY came by, plowing more than 12 inches of heavy snow and it was still snowing! I went out and snowblowed my driveway.....Ed did the rest when he got home...and we got up this morning to another 3 inches or so more snow. Good grief.....it's APRIL...where the heck was all this snow in January and February when we WANTED IT???? Sigh. Deal, Ree.......it's Maine.
This morning, I had a whole flock of slate colored Juncos and one Downy woodpecker in the apple tree, waiting patiently for me to come fill the feeders....since the apple tree is covered in snow, it was a pretty site. By the time I got the camera out, most of the Juncos were on the ground - there were still 4 in the tree, as well as the Downy, so I took this picture. SURPRISE!!! My view from the kitchen was just like this....and the birds stood out like black rocks on white snow.......in this picture you can't even see them!!! Even zooming in, they don't stand out.....except the woodpecker.....so I've included a close up of him...he's on the main trunk of the tree, just below where it Y's............see him?

Achy/painy day........
